This show was my first official directing credit! I was able to experience a full process this time around and develop my own unique approach to the work. I believe that the key to our success with this project was the joy we found with each other in the rehearsal room. Nearly every rehearsal erupted into fits of laughter that filled the room and fueled our collective creativity. I can recall a particularly silly rehearsal that ended with Victoria in tears of laughter. There was so much joy in our room, from giggling at the notes that Yeshi took in their prop journal to pushing through laughter to try and continue the scene (to varying degrees of success). I learned so much about myself and what I value as a creative person. We just loved each other’s company and had an absolute blast making this together! And what a joyful thing to experience! I am so proud of the community we were able to form and it is my goal to continue that work, of seeking joy and fun in the rehearsal room.
